that installation has brought about so much more than i could have expected it to. i feel lucky to have run into you (thanks to jason) because we definitely need help in how and where to seek funding. i am eager to hear what the city has to say about this, and am stoked to have this kind of enthusiasm going into this meeting.
i'd like to speak or meet beyond this meeting, assuming we will have a more refined idea of our role in the artery, otherwise known as the beerline extension. do you and jason know about the underwear bike ride on thursday? it might be a little chilly, but you should come so you can see the site that we want to reclaim.
thanks again!
A meeting would be great. Let's set something up for after your meeting with the city, maybe next week?
We would love to come Thursday but we both have little kids and I don't think we will be able to. You should organize a little kid ride! To the swings! Also, are there more swings going up other places? everyone is asking for them.
keith hayes said… Next week sounds great. I like that idea of the kid ride...I will see if Steve at MKEBKE is interested in helping out with something like this.
More swings? In Milwaukee? That sounds worthwhile - there's no shortage of tires, as long as we can find more rope. Maybe the idea will become a viral one - its so easy, plus these swings have this rare capability of engaging people of all ages, genders, and cultures. Why not? I'd do it again.
Great. Let me know when you are free next week. Nights work best for me unless you can meet over a lunch hour close to the MCW campus. Tuesday nights I have another pop-up meeting. Other than that I am free!
This may be a good funding mechanism for you:

I'm sure Jason would be super in to helping with a kid ride, and another swing installation. Let's find a site and do it!
keith hayes said… Thursday would work well. I could do around 12 - 1?
Also, if you could send me any information you already have written up proposals, business plans, budgets, etc that would be helpful for me.
keith hayes said… ok lunch on thursday. you name the spot and i'll meet you there. i have a general intent statement, which i will forward to you. in my sketchbook, i have a budget for what the path would cost, and a masterplan for phase one of the artery. i'll put these documents together this evening and share them with you asap. thank you moriah!
keith hayes said… moriah, have you seen this PDF?

it is meant to familiarize you with how the artery came to be.

i am working on the logistics for our kickstarter launch party, two weeks from now. i am looking for food and beer sponsors, and had an idea for you to consider. i am trying to raise money or in kind donations of food for this event (whole foods, outpost, beans & barley), and was seeing if we might be able to combine with TOC to provide things that taste good on the evening of oct. 19th, which is happening at our pop up park. i am thinking simple but unique finger foods, and possibly, some soup, as it will likely be no warmer out in two weeks, than it is now.
what are your thoughts?
